Punjab Government’s Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department, General Electric Healthcare and Ferozsons Laboratories Limited have collaborated to deliver comprehensive training program for Maternal, Newborn & Child Health (MNCH) including a series of application training classes and knowledge transfer sessions led by international and local trainers, at Shahbaz Sharif Mother & Children Complex, Sheikhupura. The complex is part of the District Headquarters Hospital and will be the first such centre to deliver training programs focused on the use of ultrasound technology for primary healthcare workers.
This strategic cooperation between GE, Ferozsons and the Government of Punjab, will run throughout the year and aims to enhance and develop the skills of healthcare providers and midwives in the Punjab province. Ultimately, the program will help enhance the reach and quality of primary care services for Maternal, Newborn & Child Health (MNCH), and will help address the challenge of maternal and neonatal mortality in the province. Khawaja Imran Nazir, Honorable Minister for Primary and Secondary Healthcare, Punjab was present at the commencement of the training programs including CEO Ferozsons, Osman Khalid Waheed, GM GE Healthcare, David Mezher and Country Manager for GE Healthcare in Pakistan, Dr. Mazhar Qureshi.
